The Management Centre for Human Development (MCHD) is the focused institutional arm of the Prof. Shitangshu Kumar Chakraborty Memorial Trust — a specialised academic and research initiative dedicated to advancing values-based management and holistic human development.
The Trust itself was established in July 2019 by Prof. Bidyut Kumar Sarkar, Dr. Subir Chowdhury (Former Director, IIM Calcutta) and the late Mrs. Chhanda Chakraborty, to preserve and advance Professor Chakraborty’s intellectual and spiritual legacy.
Since then, the Trust has conducted Executive Development Programmes for major public sector organisations including NTPC and Power Grid Corporation, and contributed to a prestigious Springer Nature academic volume on his work.
MCHD represents the Trust’s next step: a structured, campus-based institution capable of delivering sustained, research-informed programmes across corporate India and beyond.
The Centre aspires, in time, to develop a dedicated campus and evolve into a world-class Values-Based Management School, extending its reach across India and beyond.
